Executive Director

Sadik is the Executive Director, researcher and Co-Founder of the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. He is currently serving as the West African Indigenous Language Coordinator at Art+Feminism, a steering committee member of the Wikimedia Language Diversity Initiative, and a board member of the Ghanaian Volunteer Program. With a passion for promoting indigenous languages and cultural heritage, Sadik actively contributes to various Wikimedia projects and community initiatives.

Abdul-Rasheed Yussif

Abdul-Rasheed Yussif
Projects Manager

Abdul-Rasheed is an educator by profession with a background in Educational Psychology, a team member, and the project manager of the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. He is a member of The Europeana Network Association (ENA) and an event organizer at Art and Feminism. He is an Advisory Board member of Read To Change Initiative Ghana, a certified Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom trainer. He believes in making knowledge freely accessible and contributing to free knowledge; hence, he is a Wikimedian. Abdul-Rasheed has contributed to Wikimedia projects as user:Din-nani1 since 2015.

Khadijah Iddrisu

Khadija Iddrisu User:Dhee Jah is a team member of the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group as well as the IT Manager for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. She is responsible for the development and maintenance of the User group's Website as well as the promotion of its projects by designing flyers. Khadija has also participated in organizing some projects for the Dagbani Wikimedians user group, including the My Northern Achievers Contest, WikiLoves Earth 2021, and WikiLovesHumanRight. Outside of the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group, She is currently working as a Data Scientist and a Regional Ambassador for the Mastercard Foundation Alumni Committee.

Alhassan Mohammed Awal

Awal was formerly the Communications Manager for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group and is currently the Co-Lead to the Dagaare Wikimedia Community to provide general training and technical support on their language Wiki. He is a Language Activist, communication and social media enthusiast, a content creator, and a translator. He plays several voluntary roles in organizing Wikimedia projects and co-leading working groups, presentations in calls, and as well as during conferences.

Gurene Co-lead

Fuseini Mohammed Kamal-Deen is a trainer at the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group and the Wikimedian in Residence for the Wikidata for Education project. He is a member of the CyberA project lead team and a technical support officer at the GurenÉ› Wikimedia Community. He contributes to Wikimedia projects under the username User:Dnshitobu. He is a co-facilitator in Dagbani Wikimedians' tele-education program on TV, dubbed Dagbani Wikipedia Saha. Passionate about maps, he has championed a lot in that regard. He is a professional teacher with a background in Information technology and a volunteer for many other community organizations. He is a content developer and a poet by passion, and he serves as a guidance coordinator in unearthing potential. He recruits and provides digital skills training in open ecosystems. He is a biodiversity activist who contributes to iNaturalist.

Fuseini Musah

He is named Musah Fuseini (User: Musahfm), a native of Tamale-Ghana and a Dagomba by tribe. He is a teacher by profession and teaches Dagbani. He is an indigenous language activist and loves writing, especially in Dagbani. He is a prolific editor on the Dagbani Wikipedia and Wikidata. He contributed immensely towards migrating Dagbani Wikipedia from the incubator onto mainstream Wikipedia on July 1, 2021. As an Open Educational Resource (OER) enthusiast, he was part of the Open Education for a Better World (OE4BW) online mentoring program as a developer, and has authored two OERs on how to read and write in Dagbani. He is currently a team member of the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group; he is a co-facilitator in the Dagbani Wikimedians' tele-education program on TV dubbed ''Dagbani Wikipedia Saha''. He is also a Project Lead for the Kusaal Wikimedia Community. Kusaal is one of the 16 Gur/Mabia languages that the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group seeks to promote on Wikipedia and its sister projects. He is a member of the Wikipedia Research Newsletter (WRN) publication team. He is passionate about promoting the Dagbani language, with a strong commitment to making it very visible on the internet and thus, saving it from going extinct. He therefore, wholeheartedly, welcomes any opportunity aimed at achieving that. Outside of teaching and the open movement, he sells toilets!
Fuseini Abdul-Rafiu

Abdul-Rafiu Fuseini (username: Alhaji Darajaati) is Dagomba and a native of Nyohini, a professional sales manager, inspirational writer, uncertified marriage counselor, and advanced graphic designer . He was a community volunteer editor for the Dagbani Wikimedia Incubator and has won several awards, including the first ever contest dubbed my "Northern Achiever" which saw him emerge as the highest contributor for Wikidata in 2020. He again won an award as the most dedicated community member at the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group's end-of-year get-together and awards night with others. In 2021, he placed first in the Wiki Loves Folklore and Feminism 2021 article writing contests internationally for his language, and in 2022, he became first again in the 2022 Wiki Loves Folklore and Feminism contest. For these achievements, he was nominated alongside a colleague to become a Facilitator for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group and is currently a Co-lead for Language Community He is also a facilitator for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group as well as Dagbani Wikipedia Saha, a Tele-educational program on Sagani TV. He has mentored many of the Dagbani community members, which has won them several awards. He's currently a volunteer Hubs Advisor for the Movement Charter Drafting Committee (MCDC) and a member of Let's Connect, a peer learning working group for the Wikimedia Movement. He's also currently part of the first cohort of the Kiwix4Schools Africa Mentorship Program.

Fuseini Mugisu Suhuyini (User:Sir Amugi) is the Communications, Outreach, Campaigns, and Social Media Manager for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. He serves as one of the jury members for the Parliament of Ghana writing contest for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. He is a member of the Wikipedia Research Newsletter (WRN) publication team as an importer. He is also a self-motivated Digital Language Activist interested in using various Wikimedia tools such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage,Wiktionary, and any other Digital language support tools available to facilitate his language activism work on the internet. He also hopes to achieve the same for all 16 Gur/Mabia languages. Outside of the Wikimedia community, He is a Teacher and Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) at the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (C.C.T.-Gh) in the Northern Region of Ghana. He is passionate about volunteering and using ICT.

Alhassan Abdul-Wadudu, also known as User: Achiri Bitamsimli, is a facilitator and hubs coordinator for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. He plays a crucial role as a co-facilitator in the Dagbani Wikimedians' tele-education program on TV called "Dagbani Wikipedia Saha". Additionally, he serves as one of the jury members for the Parliament of Ghana writing contest organized by the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. He is a dedicated Digital Language Activist, motivated by his passion for language preservation and promotion. He actively utilizes various Wikimedia projects such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, Wiktionary, and other digital language support tools to facilitate his language activism work on the internet. Beyond his involvement in the Wikimedia community, He is a final-year student teacher at Tamale College of Education (TACE), which is affiliated with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He demonstrates great enthusiasm for exploring the history and culture of Dagbon, showcasing his deep interest in learning and preserving his heritage.

Hamidu Rukaya (username:Ruky Wunpini) is the logistics manager for the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. She plays a crucial role as a co-facilitator in the Dagbani Wikimedians' tele-education program on TV called "Dagbani Wikipedia Saha". Additionally, She serves as one of the jury members for the Parliament of Ghana writing contest organized by the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. She is a dedicated Digital Language Activist, motivated by her passion for language preservation, documentation, and promotion. She actively utilizes various Wikimedia projects, such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikivoyage. Rukaya is a teacher by profession with a background in management, and she volunteers for other local base organizations in Tamale.
